First, before I even get started. I want throw a CONGRATS to my really Good Friends.... Reg' who will be graduating from HBS on May 27th....I am SO Fanatically Proud of Him its Ridiculous!! And Keri, who was just hooded for her Ph.D from Vanderbilt on this last Saturday!! Congrats to you both...I am very blessed to have such great friends in my life. I know you both will go on and continue to do amazing things.
So, I finally updated my HBS pics to Facebook. I will add them here really soon to. I have been putting so much pressure on myself to get this stuff done. I have been in the brainstorming/free writing phase of my application for about two months now, along with studying for my test. I decided to do some more research to come up with some resources that would give me more info on a strategy to approach the essays and insight into the experience of an MBA.
I came across 3 Books: 1) Ahead of the Curve: 2 Yrs at Harvard Business School 2) The Road to Someplace Better: From the Segregated South to HBS 3) 65 Successful Harvard Business School Admissions Essays. They are all really great resources. So, I decided to check and see if the public library had them. They Did! I checked out the first two. I decided to go with the 2 authors and take an introspective journey on what their experiences were like at HBS. Along with reading these two books, I have listened to several pod cast from The Forte Foundation while at work throughout the day. And, let me say they have all been very helpful in assisting me on this journey. I will post reviews & my thoughts of the 2 books soon. But, I just finished rereading them both to make sure I didn’t miss anything. The constant advice I keep hearing is be true to the internal voice within & make sure one reflects on why the MBA is the right choice for them at this time in life. Goodness, I am learning so much more about myself! And, I already thought I had done a pretty thorough job of knowing who I AM! Lol, anyway, growth is a lifelong journey. I am always game to learn more about myself. With that being said, that’s it for now & I will post again soon on my progress! In the meantime, SUMMER is almost here! Time to SOAK UP SOME SUN & prepare for my International Excursion to Puerto Rico!!!
